FC ABUJA REGISTERS PRESENCE IN VIAREGGIO TOURNAMENT WITH A SMASH

Football College Abuja, FCA, started off the 69th edition of Viareggio Youth football tournament 2017 with a bang by trashing Ancona FC 4-1.

Abuja boys showed the world that they did not come all the way from Nigeria to Italy to watch the beautiful scenarios by netting the ball in the net three minutes into the game.  Taiwo Hamid was brought down in the 18 yard-box by Ancona defenders, while Thomas took the penalty to register Abuja’s first goal for the tournament. Ancona equalized in the 6th minute with a penalty taken by Gioacchini.

Abuja picked up their scoring spree in the 10th minute when Taiwo Salaudeen shot a free kick which Iroanya jabbed past Ancona’s goalkeeper into the net. The third goal was scored in the 33rd minute of the game by Taiwo Salaudeen with an adroit free kick  that left their opponents’ defenders and keeper confused and baffled. While Thomas, not satisfied with a lone goal, scored the last goal of the match when Christian Akannoh centered the ball and Thomas saw it to a good finish.

FC Abuja in their second match of the tournament, will take-on Atlanta FC on Wednesday 15th.
